Under the fourth, "Explaining Maintenance and Breach", it first instructs on measuring appropriateness. From "If" onward, it next provides the formal model: first, it indicates the fault of storing extra items. The Nirvāṇa refers to the text rebuking the eight impure things, which says: "If someone receives and stores the eight kinds of impure wealth, I am not their teacher, and they are not my disciple," etc. Next, it indicates the fault of separated robes: first, it recounts the Buddha's original prohibition. From "Now" onward, it indicates the cause and fruit of breaking and destroying. What comes from the Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa is as cited in "Marking the School". From "And so forth" onward, it jointly indicates the residual habituation of the two precepts. From "Like this" onward, it urges them to follow the essentials. From "Only when violating" onward, it teaches observing capacities and appropriateness.
