In the sixth: this refers to stealing little yet constituting a grave offense. First, citing the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya: this is easy to understand. Next, in the Samantapāsādikā: "instructing each other" refers to, for example, a teacher instructing three disciples, saying, "There are six coins there; let the eldest take three, the younger ones each take one (instructing others to reach five), and I myself will take one (one's own action does not reach it)"; down to the youngest disciple saying, "The upādhyāya takes three, the fellow students one each, and I myself take one" (the offense is also the same as above). One pārājika is the offense of instructing others; one sthūlātyaya is the offense of one's own action. From "One's own…" downward, this explains the meaning of concluding a sthūlātyaya, lest there be doubt that because it is a joint theft, it ought to incur a pārājika.
