In 'bad conduct', there are three [aspects]: First, 'planting flowers and so forth' is the karma of digging and destroying [the earth and plants]. From 'if' downwards is the karma of frequenting sensual desire. From 'singing' downwards is the karma of frivolous amusement. In each of the three, there are physical actions and vocal actions, which can be seen by consulting the text. 'Gài' (溉) is pronounced gài, meaning to water. 'Entertainers' (倡伎) are musicians. 'Jesting speech' refers to vulgar, worldly speech like that of actors.
