初戒。（佛在舍衛，六群畜多長衣；彼常經營莊嚴衣服，積而藏舉，因制。）

First precept: (The Buddha was in Śrāvastī; the group of six kept many extra robes; they constantly managed and adorned clothing, accumulating and storing them away; on this account it was instituted.)
