蘭若中。注釋無界，恐人錯解無蘭若界故。八樹有七間，一弓有七尺二寸，七弓成五丈四寸，七間計三十五丈二尺八寸；六尺為步算之，五十步計三十丈；八步計四丈八尺，所餘如鈔。兼勢分者，更加一十三步，則七十一步四尺八寸，故云有餘。

Regarding araṇyas: the note explaining that there is no boundary is out of fear that people would mistakenly understand that there is no araṇya boundary. Between eight trees there are seven intervals; one bow is seven chǐ, two cùn; seven bows equal five zhàng, four cùn; seven intervals calculate to thirty-five zhàng, two chǐ, eight cùn; calculating at six chǐ per pace, fifty paces equals thirty zhàng; eight paces equals four zhàng, eight chǐ; the remainder is as in the Manual. If the influential perimeter is included, add thirteen more paces, which then makes seventy-one paces, four chǐ, eight cùn; hence it says "there is a remainder."
