八中，初明遣貿方便。比丘下，次明僧別對易。陪謂以物陪償。均，平也。貧乏直與者，此約十方現前物和僧得與；如賞知事瞻待法師之例；四方常住，必無開理。

In [item] eight, first it clarifies the expedient method of sending someone to trade. From 'A bhikṣu...' onward, next it clarifies bartering Saṅgha property against individual [property]. 'Compensate' means making restitution with goods. 'Equal' means fair. As for 'directly giving to the destitute', this concerns goods belonging to the present assembly of the ten directions, which may be given when the Saṅgha is in harmony; just like the precedents of rewarding administrators or hosting Dharma masters; for permanent property of the four directions, there is definitely no principle allowing an exception.
