《多論》，初句指戒。或下，正明，初明有因無果。下明無因有果。言下，釋前施僧文。以物體穢，不開僧受，故約捨懺通之。

In the *Sarvāstivāda Vinaya Vibhāṣā*, the first sentence points to the precept. From 'Or...' onward, it clarifies properly: first, having a cause but no fruit; below, having no cause but having a fruit. From 'The words...' onward, it explains the earlier passage on offering to the Saṅgha. Because the substance of the goods is soiled, the Saṅgha is not permitted to receive them; hence it resolves this with reference to forfeiture and repentance.
