Under citing texts, the Vinayavibhāṣā and another treatise first clarify the marks of a room. There are two: namely, a common hall and sharing a door. The note explains sharing a door. A bu (division) is a prefecture. An ancient account says: when making houses in that region, they do not raise a ridgepole above, but cover it flat with earth, digging a ditch in the middle to drain water; or ten or five rooms are unpartitioned, sharing a single door. Next, it explains covering walls. A wall is a partition. Both give the extreme minimum; the above can be understood. Below "if," it shows the measurement of a room. The text gives an extremely wide measurement; below this may be deduced accordingly. Below "the one facing," it next screens the female object. Walking, sitting, or boarding a boat are all distinguished identically to this; hence it says "and even."
