釋中，初科。戒本，廣解，宿限不同，不可和會；此引廣解，故至四夜。疏云：約戒本犯至三宿者墮；剋相為言，入第三夜，臥即是犯。故《十誦》戒本過二夜提，致使解者有緩急。（準疏定奪，應從戒本。）下引諸文，見母二論及《僧祇》，則同廣解；《十誦》、《伽論》，頗符戒本。

Under explanation, the first heading: The Prātimokṣa and the detailed commentary differ on the night limit and cannot be harmonized; here the detailed commentary is cited, hence reaching the fourth night. The Commentary states: "According to the Prātimokṣa, reaching three nights incurs a pāyattika; to speak strictly of its marks, entering the third night, lying down is already a violation. Therefore, the Daśādhyāya-vinaya Prātimokṣa has a pāyattika for exceeding two nights, causing commentators to hold lenient and strict views." (Settling this according to the Commentary, one should follow the Prātimokṣa.) The various texts cited below—the Vinayavibhāṣā, the Vinayamātṛkā, and the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya—are identical to the detailed commentary; the Daśādhyāya-vinaya and the Mūlasarvāstivāda Vinayasaṃgraha correspond quite well to the Prātimokṣa.
