3.108

受捨中，初明受法，《僧祇》，初示名。不下，制受。及下，顯用。《善見》制受，理必須法。義下，正加法。文準鉢法，故注示之；持用離犯，皆無異故。若下，次明捨法。止用捨字替受持字耳。

Under 'Receiving and Relinquishing', it first explains the method of reception. In the *Mahāsāṃghika*, it first shows the name. Under 'Not...', it prescribes reception. Under 'And...', it reveals its use. The *Samantapāsādikā* prescribes reception; in principle, there must be a ritual. Under 'According to the principle...', it gives the actual formula. The text is modeled on the alms-bowl ritual, hence the note indicates this; keeping, using, and departing offenses are all no different. Under 'If...', it next explains the method of relinquishment. It merely uses the word 'relinquish' to replace the words 'receive and keep'.
