次科，初明留付。亦可等者，以身不現，不可羯磨，故令白眾直和待還。若下，次簡合賞。以捨己修道，遠相濟故。《伽論》雖非夏制，頗見懷慈。

In the next heading, first, it explains reserving and delivering: 'One may also...', etc., is because since the person is not present, a karma cannot be performed, so it orders announcing to the saṃgha to harmoniously wait for his return directly. The phrase 'If under...' next screens out those who qualify for reward: because he relinquished his own practice of the Way to aid from afar. Although the Vinayasaṃgraha is not a rule for the rains retreat, it quite shows the harboring of compassion.
