簡人中，初科。謂看病通七眾，非謂共看也。前明僧病，次明尼病。皆本眾合賞，俗眾非分。注云勞者，即前二五德也。《伽論》開與餘眾。沙彌六物，於後有用，故須具與。準下，義決。共看與究竟者，謂前後替看。齊竟屏分，謂賞一首者，令後自分。

Under 'Screening persons', the first heading: this means nursing the sick applies generally to the seven assemblies, not that they nurse together. First, it explains a monk's illness; next, a nun's illness. Both qualify for rewards within their own assembly; the lay assembly has no share. When the note says 'labor', it refers to the aforementioned twice five virtues. The Vinayasaṃgraha allows giving to the other assemblies. A śrāmaṇera's six items will be useful later, so they must be given in full. The phrase 'Judging under...' resolves by principle: nursing together and giving to the one who stays until the conclusion refers to caring for the patient in turn before and after; dividing in private after completion means rewarding one person and letting them divide it among themselves afterward.
