付分法中，初科。注中，示法所出。律中賞勞法，下注云：若僧中羯磨，差一人分亡者衣物羯磨，與此無異；唯益一句：僧與某甲比丘衣，某甲當還與僧，白如是。（已上律注。）彼但例指，故云不具。或可賞法緣中自牒六物，又不云若衣非衣等；用有不便，故準後法。

In the procedure for handing over to divide: in the first section, the note indicates the origin of the procedure. In the Vinaya's procedure for rewarding labor, the note below states: 'If performing a karmavācanā within the Saṃgha to appoint one person to divide a deceased person's robes and items, the karmavācanā is no different from this; it only adds one sentence: "The Saṃgha gives the robes to Bhikṣu So-and-so, and So-and-so shall return them to the Saṃgha; such is the motion."' (End of the Vinaya's note.) It merely refers by analogy, hence it is said to be incomplete. Or perhaps, because the circumstances in the reward procedure specifically itemize the six items, and also do not state 'whether robes or non-robes,' etc., its use had inconveniences; hence it follows the subsequent procedure.
