Direct address has two [forms]. First, the procedure for three persons. Because they speak to each other, it says 'mutually in turn.' Verbal agreement between two persons merely removes the plural word 'all.' Next, the procedure for two persons. It does not provide the phrasing; one should say: 'Venerable One! These robes and bowl (sitting mat and other items) of the deceased bhikṣu are given to the Venerable One as a reward for nursing the sick.' The procedure for division is pointed out as above, merely removing the two characters 'above.' From 'Four-Part' onward, it aligns with our own Vinaya. It only provides the method of direct address and does not discuss rewarding labor, hence it says 'directly clarifies,' etc. 'The text is like the treatise' is identical to the above citation.
