Among timely medicines, the Dharmaguptaka lists standard and non-standard. Gruel applies to both kinds of food, distinguished by thickness and thinness. Rice flour cakes and porridge all belong to non-standard, encompassed under fine powders. The Mahāsāṃghika[-vinaya]: manjīng is also called wújīng, which is of the type of wēnsōng; it also says: Northerners call manjīng (jǐng xīng) jì (dàn lǐ) nǐ (nú lǐ), a sweet vegetable. Wine, vinegar, and so forth are all encompassed under timely juices.
