示數中，初科。《四分》定量文如前引。長短如上略示，五條十隔（一長一短），餘二衣準之，應云七條二十一隔（兩長一短），九條二十七隔等，次第增之。據律定量則出二衣，長短唯據五條；文中通舉，須知兩異。

Regarding showing the numbers, in the first section: The Dharmaguptaka text on fixed measurements is as cited above. Long and short are briefly shown as above: five strips with ten divisions (one long and one short); the other two robes are based on this, meaning seven strips with twenty-one divisions (two long and one short), nine strips with twenty-seven divisions, and so forth, increasing in succession. Relying on the Vinaya's fixed measurement, it details the two robes, while the long and short are based only on the five-strip [robe]; since the text mentions them together, one must know their two differences.
