淨法中，初文。上座審問，令眾知委所食無疑。維那亦爾者，隨得一人，非謂俱問。

In the purification procedure, the first text: the senior monk investigates and asks, so that the assembly knows the details and has no doubts about what is eaten. "The same applies to the karmadāna" means taking whichever one is available; it does not mean both must ask together.
