3.45

八中，初科。律中，上二衣，本要割截；若少揲葉（各得一種。），下衣復得襵葉。（更加此一，為三種。謂作小襵，略分葉相。）

In the eighth, the first section: In the Vinaya, the upper two robes originally require cutting and severing; if cloth is scarce, overlapping borders are allowed (one kind for each), and the lower robe also permits pleated borders. (Adding this one makes three kinds. It means making small pleats to roughly delineate the borders.)
