明色中，初科。《四分》黑赤，《僧祇》青翠，今多黑色耳。亂雀咽，即取咽項毛色；鴿色多別，今取青者。

In clarifying the color, the first section: The *Dharmaguptaka-vinaya* has black and red, while the *Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya* has blue-green; today it is mostly black. "Throat of a peacock" takes the color of the feathers on its throat and neck. The color of pigeons has many variations; here it takes the blue-grey one.
