《僧祇》，初明治破房。隨工多少者，謂二年修治，得二年住，三年得三年住。若下，次治空房。謂非破壞，但闕受用者。若下，三明治受用。謂有什物，但故舊耳。一時同上九十日。

In the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya, the first [passage] explains repairing broken rooms. "According to the amount of labor" means that if one repairs it for two years, one may dwell in it for two years; if for three years, one may dwell in it for three years. The text from "If" onwards next explains repairing an empty room. This refers to one that is not damaged, but merely lacks furnishings for use. The text from "If" onwards thirdly explains repairing furnishings for use. This means that utensils are present, but merely old and worn. "One season" is the same as the ninety days mentioned above.
