3.552

第四門，通明中，初標四事。能下，示如非，上明如法之益。若下，示非法之損。非猶責也。下引《涅槃》證上同非。減少謂獲福不多，無報謂都無所獲。

In the fourth section, "General Explanation," first it marks out the four requisites. From "Able" below, it indicates conformity and non-conformity; the above part clarifies the benefits of conformity to the Dharma. From "If" below, it indicates the detriment of non-conformity to the Dharma. "Non-conformity" (非) is like reproaching. Below, it cites the *Nirvāṇa-sūtra* to corroborate that the above are similarly non-conformities. "Reduced" means obtaining little merit, and "no recompense" means obtaining nothing at all.
