《智論》但明計功一境,初句標能觀心。墾下,列所觀境又三,初觀功力。墾,耕也。植,種也。耘除謂去穢草。收穫即刈禾,穫音鑊。蹂治即踐穀;蹂音柔,或上呼。須下,次觀變穢。纔入生藏,食即酸臭;次入熟藏,即成屎尿。我下,三觀來報。故下,論家結勸。
The *Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa* only clarifies the single realm of calculating the labor. The first line marks the contemplating mind. From "Plowing" below, it lists the contemplated realms, again in three: first, contemplating the labor and effort. "Plowing" (墾) means tilling. "Planting" (植) means sowing. "Weeding and removing" means clearing out weeds. "Harvesting" means reaping grain; "harvesting" (穫) is pronounced huò. "Threshing" means trampling the grain; "trampling" (蹂) is pronounced róu, or in the rising tone. From "Must" below, next is contemplating the transformation into filth. As soon as it enters the receptacle of raw food (āmāśaya), the food turns sour and foul; next it enters the receptacle of digested food (pakvāśaya), becoming feces and urine. From "I" below, third is contemplating future retributions. From "Therefore" below, the author of the treatise concludes with an admonition.
