次科，標。云列名者，下十二種，竝首標故；行體者，謂一一顯相，示所修故。（舊將行體分釋，云依行目行，十二事號體，非。）

In the next section, the heading: the phrase "listing the names" is because the twelve kinds below are all headed by their titles; "the essence of the practice" means demonstrating the marks one by one to show what is cultivated. (An older commentary split and explained "practice-essence," saying it refers to the practice by following the practice, and that the twelve items are called the essence, which is incorrect.)
