三中，初明造立。安基，為堅牢故。作欄，為外護故。懸幡蓋物，即梯橙也。不得下，次制踐污。注引《大論》，會上神名。又下，次釋密迹；以菩薩示現，故得名耳。金剛，即所執之杵，用為以刃。下引《五分》，佛在侍衛，滅後亦然故也。

In the third, it first explains construction. Laying the foundation is for the sake of solid firmness. Making balustrades is for outer protection. Items for hanging banners and canopies are ladders and stools. Below, 'one must not' next prohibits trampling and defilement. The note cites the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra to correspond with the above name of the deity. Below, 'further' next explains 'secret traces'; because it is a manifestation of a bodhisattva, it gets this name. 'Vajra' is the pestle held, used as a bladed weapon. Below, it cites the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya: when the Buddha was in the world they escorted and guarded him, and after his extinction it is also like this.
