3.729

第六門，初科。《四分》在後，恐謂因法得食，濫彼邪緣。世傳在前，意令時眾先知情旨，然後受食，故云無失。然雖兩通，依教彌善；若據隨機，不可一定。

In the sixth section, regarding the first heading: in the *Dharmaguptaka-vinaya*, it is placed after, fearing that one might think food is obtained through preaching the Dharma, confusing it with wrongful conditions. The worldly custom places it before, with the intention of letting the assembly first know the sentiment and purpose, and only then accept the food; hence it says 'there is no error'. However, although both are permissible, following the teaching is even better; yet depending on adapting to capacities, it cannot be fixed.
