三中。唄即梵音。未見經文者，上引諸緣，但直行香，不云作唄故。下指諸文，止明開唄，意是存之，今亦罕用。

In the third [heading]: *pāṭha* is the Sanskrit sound [for chanting]. Regarding 'having not yet seen scriptural texts': the various stories cited above merely had the direct distribution of incense, and did not mention chanting. The various passages pointed out below merely clarify that chanting is permitted; the intention was to preserve it, though nowadays it is also rarely used.
