In the third [heading], the verses from the *Dīrgha-āgama* praise giving: the first two lines praise their faith, the next two lines commend their benevolence, and the last two lines demonstrate the retribution received. 'Worthy of respect and worthy of service' refers to the Triratna; respect is the inner mind, and service is making offerings. In the vow words from the *Pañcavargika-vinaya*, the first verse wishes for both humans and animals to be at peace, and the latter verse wishes that what is obtained fulfills desires; plowing fields and sowing seeds is an analogy for the present giving. Below 'The meaning...', an admonition is made according to principle: based on the sages making regulations, the key lies in adapting to what is appropriate. The 'four unhindered analytical knowledges' are unhindered eloquence regarding meanings, unhindered eloquence regarding dharmas, unhindered eloquence regarding phrasing, and unhindered eloquence regarding joyful exposition. 'Facing conditions': conditions are the capacities of the listeners.
