次科中，初敘妄作。澆末是時，寡識是人。明律謂有解，知時謂有智。言從喉出，事任心裁，不稽典教，故出喉心。所下，彰過失。事任於心故非法，言出於喉故訛濫。皆由等者，推妄所以。方寸謂心智。故下，引證。初二句謂隨流俗，次二句謗法，下二句造業。廣生邪見，謂展轉壞他。

In the next section, first it describes reckless actions. "Turbid latter age" refers to the time; "lacking understanding" refers to the people. "Knowing the Vinaya" claims to possess comprehension; "knowing the times" claims to possess wisdom. Words emanate from their throats, and matters are left to their minds' arbitrary judgment; without investigating the scriptures and teachings, they are produced merely from the throat and the mind. From "what is" downwards, it displays the faults. Matters being left to the mind makes them uncanonical; words emerging from the throat makes them corrupt and chaotic. "All due to," etc., deduces the reason for recklessness. "Square inch" refers to the wisdom of the mind. From "therefore" downwards, it cites proofs. The first two lines refer to following worldly customs; the next two lines slander the Dharma; the lower two lines create karma. "Extensively generating wrong views" refers to progressively ruining others.
