In the eighth part, "entering another's room" refers to the protocol for entering a master's room to ask questions. "Snapping the fingers outside" is to alert those inside so they know. "Abiding in right mindfulness" means having no distracting thoughts. Next, "asking about the scriptures" refers to the protocol when actually asking questions. "Descending from the bed to ask" is because one rises from the seat. "Not thinking of external conditions" is because one must listen attentively and receive it. "Bow after having understood" is to thank him for the instruction; "facing backward when exiting the door" is so as not to turn one's back on the master.
