引證中。律因病人無人瞻視，佛即呵制。初引緣。便下，立制。佛下，結勸。乃下，指同。存沒雖殊，提接義一；故茲制意，兼該兩門。

Under Citing Testimonials: In the Vinaya, because a sick person had no one to care for him, the Buddha rebuked [them] and laid down a regulation. First the circumstances are cited. "Then" below establishes the regulation. "Buddha" below concludes with exhortation. "Even" below indicates the same. Although life and death are different, the meaning of assisting and receiving is one; therefore, the intent of this regulation encompasses both sections.
