In the next section: because the bodhisattva cultivates compassion, the karma of killing stands foremost, and anger is prohibited as a grave pārājika. The Avataṃsaka Sūtra states: "When a single thought of anger arises, a million obstacle gates swing open." It also states: "When a single thought gives rise to anger, one falls into the Avīci hell for kalpas." Thus we know that the bodhisattva specifically prohibits the mind of anger rather than prohibiting greed, hence this query is presented. From "Zhi" onward, it cites an explanation, using the ordinary to illustrate the noble. The form realm refers to the heavens of the four dhyānas. The five hindrances and ten unwholesome actions both eliminate greed. That the noble path is far removed from desire and evil is because its essence is pure. That they "originally do not attain them" is because from beginningless time they have never experienced them.
