In resolving doubts, the first passage: the Bodhisattvabhūmi and the Fo zang jing differ in their acceptance and rejection of the two views of annihilation and permanence, so they must be reconciled, thereby clarifying that the bodhisattva establishes teachings according to the capacities of beings, where words may diverge but their aim coincides. In summarizing wrong views, they do not go beyond existence and non-existence: grasping existence is called permanence; clinging to emptiness is called annihilation. The view of selfhood and the concept of an ego are both views of permanence; perniciously grasping emptiness refers to denying cause and effect, which is the view of annihilation. In the answer, it first explains the Bodhisattvabhūmi. "Jiao" is like "neng" (able to). Next, it explains the Fo zang jing. The final sentence collectively concludes both texts.
