此佛出世與前同劫，人壽七萬歲，七十年前說此略偈，後方廣說。

This Buddha arose in the world during the same kalpa as the preceding [Buddha], when human lifespan was seventy thousand years. For the first seventy years he spoke this abbreviated verse; only later did he expound [the precepts] extensively.
