四十、遺落者，《僧祇》二十二云「當段段可口食。若食餅，當手作分令可口食。」
Rule forty, dropping food: the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya, fascicle twenty-two, says: "One should eat mouthful by mouthful in sizes suitable for the mouth. If eating cake, break it into portions with the hands to make it suitable for the mouth."
