From here below is the third major section, concluding and showing the dedication towards seeking [the Great Way]. The text is divided into three parts: first, up to "should train in it," concludes the comprehensive [rules] and shows the abbreviated ones (if there are other Buddhas' teachings, it shows the other Buddhas' abbreviated ones). Second, from "Patience is the foremost path" onward, specifically shows the seven abbreviated [prātimokṣas]. Third, from "An enlightened person who can protect the precepts" onward, dedicates [the merit] toward seeking the Great Way. In the second part, specifically showing the seven abbreviated [prātimokṣas], the text has seven sections: First is the abbreviated [prātimokṣa] of Vipaśyin. The text is divided into two parts: first, setting forth the abbreviated verse; next, setting forth the teacher of the doctrine. In explaining the abbreviated verse: the people of that Buddha's era mostly clung to ascetic practices, asserting that clinging to ascetic practices severs past bad karma and that by not creating new [karma] there will be no painful retribution. To counteract that, he therefore instituted the precept, saying, "Patience is the foremost path," and so on, meaning that cultivating benevolence and patience towards those who hold enmity is such that this asceticism is the foremost path. This path leads to the realization of the unconditioned principle, which the Buddha declared to be supreme. Through such excellent legislation, one attains unconditioned bliss. It is unlike non-Buddhists who leave home to afflict others and institute the cultivation of ascetic practices, who are not called śramaṇas. "Śramaṇa" means peaceful and quiet bliss; what they institute has no fruit of peaceful bliss, hence it is stated as such. Next, showing the teacher of the doctrine is easy to understand from the text.
