「大姊僧聽！彼某甲沙彌尼，從僧乞二歲學戒，某甲尼為和尚。僧今與某甲沙彌尼二歲學戒，某甲尼為和尚。誰諸大姊忍『僧與彼某甲沙彌尼二歲學戒，某甲尼為和尚』者默然，誰不忍者說。是初羯磨。」（如是三說。）

"May the elder sisters of the saṃgha listen! That śrāmaṇerikā N.N. requests from the saṃgha the two-year training in the precepts, with bhikṣuṇī N.N. as upādhyāyikā. The saṃgha now grants śrāmaṇerikā N.N. the two-year training in the precepts, with bhikṣuṇī N.N. as upādhyāyikā. Whichever of the elder sisters consents that 'the saṃgha grant that śrāmaṇerikā N.N. the two-year training in the precepts, with bhikṣuṇī N.N. as upādhyāyikā,' remain silent; whoever does not consent, speak. This is the first karman." (Repeated thus three times.)
