「族姓女聽！如來無所著，已說八波羅夷，又說四種譬喻。若犯八重，如斷人頭已，不可復起；又如截多羅樹，心不更生長；又如鍼鼻缺，不堪復用；又如折大石分為二分，不可還合。若比丘尼犯八重已，不得還成比丘尼行。汝是中盡形壽不得犯！」

"Listen, woman of good family! The Tathāgata, the Arhat, has spoken the eight pārājikas and has also spoken four kinds of similes: committing the eight grave offences is like a person whose head has been cut off, which cannot be raised again; it is also like severing a palm tree, the trunk of which will not sprout or grow again; it is also like a needle whose eye is broken, which is no longer fit for use; and it is also like breaking a great stone in two, which cannot be joined back together. If a bhikṣuṇī commits the eight grave offences, she cannot return to practicing as a bhikṣuṇī. In this regard, you must not violate them for the rest of your life!"
