(The vinaya text states: "During the summer retreat, one must rely upon a vinaya master of the fifth rank who can extensively recite the two divisions of the Vinaya. If one violates this, one incurs a pātayantikā. During spring and winter, one may rely upon four types of vinaya masters; those who violate this incur a duṣkṛta." According to the intended meaning of the Vinaya, one should ask him, saying:)
