2.174

我犯某甲罪，今向長老懺悔。（復作是念：設語傍人，恐鬧亂眾僧，不成說戒。彼比丘當心念言：）我犯某罪，須罷坐已，當如法懺悔。（作如是已，得聽說戒。）

"I have committed such-and-such an offense; I now confess before the āyuṣmat." (He further thinks: 'If I speak to the person beside me, I fear it will disturb the saṃgha and prevent the recitation of the precepts.' That bhikṣu should mentally say:) "I have committed such-and-such an offense; when the assembly rises, I shall confess according to the Dharma." (Having done so, he is permitted to listen to the recitation of the precepts.)
