差比丘使告白衣法（佛言：「應白二羯磨差一比丘為使，告白衣令知。」其使比丘應具八德。八德及差，廣如律明。此使比丘往至彼家，不應受床坐飲食供養等，直應語云：）

The procedure of appointing a bhikṣu as an envoy to notify a householder (The Buddha said: "By a jñaptidvitīya-karman, one should appoint a bhikṣu as an envoy to notify the householder so that he knows." The bhikṣu envoy should be endowed with eight virtues. The eight virtues and the appointment are explained in detail in the Vinaya. When this bhikṣu envoy arrives at that house, he should not accept bedding, seats, food, or offerings; he should directly speak, saying:)
