與自言治毘尼法（比丘以天眼清淨，見比丘犯戒，不取自言，牽出門外。佛言：「不應如是。若於異時，亦不應如是。令彼伏罪然後與罪，不應不自伏罪而與罪。」）

Procedure for granting the Vinaya of Settlement by Confession (pratijñākāraka-vinaya): (A bhikṣu, with pure divine vision, saw a bhikṣu break a precept, and without obtaining his self-confession, dragged him out the door. The Buddha said: "It should not be done like this. Even on another occasion, it should not be done like this either. Cause him to submit to the offense and only then impose the penalty; one should not impose the penalty without his submitting to the offense on his own.")
