Let the saṃgha, bhadantas, listen! This bhikṣu So-and-so previously contracted an illness of insanity; at the time of reciting the precepts, he sometimes remembered and sometimes did not remember, sometimes came and sometimes did not come, and the saṃgha performed the karman for the illness of insanity for him. Having performed the karman for him, his illness of insanity has now ceased; he now begs the saṃgha for the revocation of the karman for the illness of insanity. Whichever āyuṣmats approve the saṃgha's revoking the karman for the illness of insanity for the bhikṣu So-and-so, let them remain silent; whoever does not approve, let him speak. The saṃgha has approved revoking the karman for the illness of insanity for the bhikṣu So-and-so. Because the saṃgha approves, it is silent; so is this matter maintained. (The Buddha said: "Perform the karman for him in accordance with the time of his illness of madness; when the madness ceases, revoke it.")
