3.12

大姊！莫自作不可共語，當作可共語。大姊如法諫諸比丘尼，諸比丘尼亦當如法諫大姊。如是佛弟子眾，得增益展轉相教，展轉相諫，展轉懺悔。大姊！可捨此事，莫為僧所呵，更犯重罪。（若隨語者善；若不隨語者，乃至第三，如上。白四法體，亦如律明爾。）

"Ayye! Do not make yourself unapproachable to talk to; make yourself approachable to talk to. May the ayye admonish the bhikṣuṇīs dhammena, and the bhikṣuṇīs will also admonish the ayye dhammena. Thus the community of Buddha's disciples gains increase, mutually instructing one another, mutually admonishing one another, and mutually repenting to one another. Ayye! Abandon this matter; do not be rebuked by the saṃgha, committing a further grave offence." (If she complies with the words, it is well; if she does not comply with the words, up to the third, as above. The substance of the jñapticaturtha-karman procedure is also just as explained in the Vinaya.)
