The Procedure for Abridged Pravāraṇā: (The Vinaya states: If there are the eight perils or other conditions, an abridged pravāraṇā is permitted. If the peril is still distant and there is room for an extensive recitation, it should be recited extensively. If the peril is near and three recitations cannot be made, two recitations should be made; if two recitations cannot be made, one recitation should be made; if not, deal with it in accordance with the Dharma. If the peril is near and even one recitation cannot be made, then a ñatti should be performed: each person jointly makes three utterances for pravāraṇā, making the ñatti as follows:) "May the community of sisters listen! If the time has arrived for the saṃgha, may the saṃgha approve and allow the saṃgha now to jointly make three utterances each for pravāraṇā. This is the ñatti." (Having made this ñatti, each jointly makes three utterances for pravāraṇā; making two recitations or one recitation is also like this. If the peril is near and each person cannot even make three utterances for pravāraṇā, nor make a ñatti, then one should immediately depart on account of this matter.)
