八、釋文者，文中有三：一、總明滅法，二、別顯滅相，三、故作成犯。前中亦三：一、本以信心受戒，二、恃自高威，三、破滅佛法。二、「明作」下別顯中，一、障其出家修道，二、障造形像造經。此破住持三寶遺法，眾生賴藉此住持，今既損減其罪重，故總結云「破三寶罪」也。三、「而故作」下違教結犯，可知。

Eighth, explaining the text: in the text there are three [parts]: 1. generally explaining the destruction of the Dharma, 2. specifically revealing the characteristics of destruction, 3. intentionally acting and constituting an offense. In the first part there are also three: 1. originally receiving the precepts with a faithful mind, 2. relying on one's own high authority, 3. destroying the Buddha-Dharma. 2. In specifically revealing from 'openly acting' downward: 1. obstructing their going forth and cultivating the Path, 2. obstructing the making of images and the making of sūtras. This destroys the lingering Dharma of the enduring Three Jewels, and sentient beings rely upon this enduring [presence]; now that it is damaged and diminished, the sin is heavy, hence it is collectively concluded as 'the sin of destroying the Three Jewels.' 3. From 'yet intentionally acting' downward, violating the teaching and adjudicating the offense can be known.
