Fourth, completion of conditions constituting an offense: in this precept there are four situations of offense: 1. being stingy oneself, 2. instructing others, 3. rejoicing in accord, 4. praising stinginess. For now, we explain the completion of conditions regarding oneself; the other three can be inferred accordingly. For oneself, six conditions complete [the offense]: 1. possessing wealth or Dharma oneself; 2. a petitioner being present; 3. having the cognition of the preceding two; 4. giving rise to a stingy, evil mind; 5. directly defying in the face of the condition; 6. the person in front leaving empty-handed.
