Seventh, permission and prohibition: if it is to save life from danger and the like, drinking alcohol is not an offense, as in the case of Queen Mallikā and others. Furthermore, drinking together to save another from deeds of uninterrupted retribution and exhorting them to cease coarse and grave karma is also, in principle, not an offense. All actions contrary to this are offenses.
