1.71

善學諸人者，是菩薩十波羅提木叉應當學，於中不應一一犯如微塵許，何況具足犯十戒。若有犯者，不得現身發菩提心，亦失國王位、轉輪王位，亦失比丘、比丘尼位，亦失十發趣、十長養、十金剛、十地佛性常住妙果，一切皆失墮三惡道中，二劫三劫不聞父母三寶名字，以是不應一一犯。

"You persons who learn well, these ten prātimokṣas of a bodhisattva should be studied, and within them you should not violate even a speck of dust's amount, how much less fully violate the ten precepts. If anyone violates them, they cannot in their present life generate the bodhicitta, and they will also lose the rank of king, the rank of wheel-turning king, the rank of monk, the rank of nun, the ranks of the ten dwellings, ten nourishments, ten adamantine minds, and ten grounds, and the sublime fruit of the permanent Buddha-nature; they will lose everything and fall into the three evil destinies, not hearing the names of father, mother, or the Three Jewels for two or three kalpas. Therefore, you should not violate any single one of them."
