"If a disciple of the Buddha sees that anywhere the Dharma and vinaya, sūtras and precepts are being expounded, or in a large mansion or residence there is a place where the Dharma is being expounded, this newly trained bodhisattva should take up the rolls of the sūtras and vinaya and go to the Dharma master's place to listen, receive, consult, and inquire. If in mountain forests, under trees, on saṃgha grounds, or in monasteries, wherever the Dharma is being expounded, one should go to listen and receive it all. If one does not go there to listen, receive, consult, and inquire, one commits a duṣkṛta offense."
