文分為四，初、標佛種不斷，是問答之大綱，玄宗之巨意；二、別配文；三、逐難釋；四、結成前難。雖一部經問答之意皆為願欲令佛種不斷，由能問故，方能答生，初從勝名，故次別指，准在問中。此中初標論其實義，故言般若為佛種不斷，流行於世。

The text is divided into four: first, identifying the non-interruption of the Buddha's lineage, which is the broad outline of the questions and answers and the momentous meaning of the profound doctrine; second, specifically correlating it to the text; third, resolving difficulties one by one; and fourth, concluding and establishing the previous difficulties. Although the intent of the questions and answers throughout the entire sūtra is wholly the wish to make the lineage of the Buddha uninterrupted, it is only through the ability to question that the ability to answer arises; beginning from the preeminent term, it next points out specifically that by analogy it is contained within the question. Here, the treatise first identifies its true meaning, hence stating that prajñā is circulated in the world for the sake of the non-interruption of the Buddha's lineage.
